1. Basis
- Packaging Regulation (PPWR): The European Packaging Directive 94/62/EC has regulated the placing on the market, take-back, and recycling of packaging in the European Union for almost 30 years. In Germany, it is currently implemented through the Packaging Act (VerpackG). On February 27, 2023, the European Commission published a proposal for a new Packaging Regulation (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, PPWR) at the EU level. The new EU Packaging Regulation is part of the European Green Deal and the new EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy, and updates the EU legal framework for packaging and packaging waste. The new regulation is to apply immediately in all EU member states.
- Basic Understanding: www.spielmaterial.de is committed to environmental protection (see also our environmental page at https://plus.spielmaterial.de/en/environment/) and makes extensive use of recycled shipping materials.
- Packaging Material: With regard to the aforementioned packaging regulations, we would like to emphasize that by using recycled game boxes, we do not ship any new packaging abroad. Additional packaging material is not used because our goods do not require transport protection. We receive the boxes from various game publishers who donate their overproduction to us. This usage is compatible with our shipping via International Mail or DHL Parcel. Envelopes used for small quantities within Germany are properly reported to the German system.
