It’s all about the gold medal—which of the two players (or teams) manages to place their pieces most effectively on the scoring circle?

Contents:

  • 15 chips each in white and black.

Preparation:

You will need a sheet of A4 paper. At one end, draw three concentric circles (use coins, glasses, etc., as guides); at the other end, draw a straight line to mark the launch zone.

Each player takes the game pieces of one color. The player with the white pieces goes first.

Gameplay:

Players take turns flicking one of their chips from behind the launch line, attempting to maneuver it so that it comes to rest within the circular zones—ideally, knocking their opponent’s pieces out of those zones in the process.

Once both players have flicked all their chips, scoring takes place:

  • The winner of the round is the player whose chip lies closest to the exact center of the middle circle.
  • For every chip that lies closer to the center point than any of the opponent’s chips, that player receives 3 points.
  • For any chips lying within or touching the inner circle, 3 points are awarded.
  • For any chips lying within or touching the middle circle, 2 points are awarded.
  • For any chips lying within or touching the outer circle, 1 point is awarded.

The overall winner is the player with the highest total score; that player also begins the next round.

End of Game:

The game ends when a player reaches a score of 50 points or more.
