So the game fair again. The one in Essen. The one with all the players from near and far. The one with thousands of tables to play on. Exactly the one.
For me as an author, this is THE event of the year. You would think – but no. Here you can see all the games that have already managed to find a publisher recently. So they are ready. As a game designer, I’m more interested in the unfinished games. The ones that still need improvements, adjustments and affection. The games at the fair have come of age and left the house. Yes, I’m happy when I see one or two things there that I may have contributed to. But an author is active on those very unfinished games. The ones that still have to grow. And then it’s rather the authors’ meetings that are the important events. Be it Göttingen, Nuremberg (since 2023) or the many local meetings where you meet like-minded people.
